Sublimation

The alternative to engraving is sublimation printing. Although “sublimation printing” is not the same as engraving, this process is versatile and creates unique and colorful awards. It has all the fine details of a printed page.
Sublimation engraving is one of the most common approaches used by companies today. This approach is efficient and it is much more cost effective when compared with many of the alternatives on the market, including the laser engraving services.

Instead of extracting material from a material, like many other forms of engraving (including laser engraving) this process prints onto a metal plate. The machinery used to complete this “printing” uses pressure and heat for the sublimation to transfer.

There is no end to the various fonts and graphics that can be imprinted onto a trophy or plaque utilizing the sublimation engraving technique.

In a nutshell, it’s a process is the printing of full-color, fine detail graphic designs onto a specially-designed line of products. It starts with the creation of fine graphic designs in a graphic program. The designs are then “printed” onto specialized transfer papers using highly specialized “sublimation” inks. The paper is then placed onto a product that has been prepared with a receptive sublimated surface. The images are tranferred onto the products using specific types of heat presses at high temperatures.

Sublimation products include:

Plaques, Name Badges, Mouse Pads, Mugs, Clocks, Picture Frames, T-Shirts,Key Rings, Luggage Tags, Clip Boards, Dry Erase Boards, and More!

One of the biggest advantages is that it can actually print in different colors, although not all companies offer this service. Many businesses offer a black engraving service. Having this flexibility available makes it easier for customers to customize whatever items they have in mind, and when it comes to engraving, this can mean a lot.
